MANKATO, Minn. – After rain and heavy winds pushed Central Regional play back a day, the University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team took to the field on Saturday to take on the Gorillas of No. 3 Pittsburg State University. The Boll Weevils could not overcome the Gorillas' dominate offense, falling into the elimination bracket with a final score of 11-5.

Scoring Recap:
Pittsburg State struck first in the game, adding three runs on a single to centerfield in the top of the second.

The Boll Weevils got on the board in the fourth as Camden Tanner crossed home off an Aidan Garrett sacrifice fly. 

The Gorillas responded in the top of the fifth with two home runs to plate four, making it a 7-1 ball game. However, the Weevils answered right back with two home runs of their own, with Kirk Woolf skyrocketing one to left field to bring home Roc Hawthorne, and Justin Santoyo sending a solo shot over the video board in right field, cutting it to a three-run game.

PSU placed its eighth run of the game in the top of the sixth to add more cushion to their lead.

Santoyo shot another solo home run over the right-center wall in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead for UAM back to three, 8-5.

Pitt State would add a run in the eighth and two runs in the ninth, while holding the Weevils scoreless, to take the game, 11-5.

Pitching Performances
- Maxim Mrakovcic started on the mound and suffered the loss, for the Weevils pitching 5.0 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out two batters in the process.
-Trey Miller was called from the bull pen to pitch in the sixth, giving up one run on three hits, with two strikeouts in his 2.0 innings pitched.
- Nelson Mercado entered the game in the seventh, pitching 2.0 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out three batters.

Offensive Showcase
-  Justin Santoyo - 2-for-4 with 2 home runs, 2RBI, and two runs scored
- Kirk Woolf - 1-for-3  with a home run, 2RBI, 1BB, and one run scored.
- Camden Tanner - 2-for-4 with a triple, and one run scored.
- Roc Hawthorne - 1-for-2 with 3BB and one run scored.  

On Deck For The Weevils
The Boll Weevils will take on No. 2 Minnesota State in an elimination game at noon, with the winner advancing to take on No. 3 Pittsburg State at 6 pm.
