HUMBLE, Texas - The University of Arkansas at Monticello's men's golf team closed out the Houston Classic Tuesday evening finishing out the three round tournament with a final carding of 935 (+71) to place 15th.
Dallas Baptist took home the title with a final team score of 14-under par (850). The Weevils were the fifth-best finishing team of the Great American Conference members competing in the tournament.
Carson Slaughter closed out the tournament tied for 71st after shooting an 82 (+10) in round three, finishing 18-over par after three rounds.
Daniel Taylor and
Landry Rogers tied for 76th in the tournament, shooting 20-over par. Taylor carded a 74 (+2) in his final round. Rogers carded a 75 (+3) in his final round.
James Fuhrer and
Blayden Gillham rounded out the Weevils, finishing tied for 83rd at 23-over par. Fuhrer shot a 76 (+4) in his final round. Gillham shot a 77 (+5) in his final round.
The Weevils combined for 11 birdies on the final day, for a three-round combined total of 26.
