Scoring Recap:
Camden Tanner was not only the first to bat for the Weevils, but also opened the scoring for Arkansas-Monticello with a solo shot over the left center wall to place the first run on the board. A DSU wild pitch with runners in scoring position brought in Gabe Kuttenkuler.

The Statesmen quickly responded by adding four combined runs between the bottom of the first and second innings to take the lead 4-2.

The Weevils tied the game back up in the top of the fourth as Caden Carney ran in off Tanner's single down the left field line. Drew Floyd ran in for the fourth Weevil run off a groundout play from the bat of Daniel Lizarraga.

Delta State took the lead once more in the bottom of the fourth on a single to left field.

An explosive seven-run, fifth inning pushed the Weevils into double digits, courtesy of two home runs to left field, a double, and a single. Darcy Barry kicked off the inning with a two-run blast, bringing in Eli Marvin, while Jackson Riedling was brought in off Drew Floyd's two-run shot. Elijah Olaybal brought in runs nine and ten with a double to centerfield, making time for Lizarraga and Tanner to reach home. The 11th run of the game came off Gabe Kuttenkuler's single to shortstop that brought in Olaybal. The Weevils came out of the inning sitting at an 11-5 ballgame.

The Statesmen cut the lead to three off a home run over the left field wall in the fifth, and tied the game 11- 11 with a three-run home run over the left field wall in the sixth.

Arkansas-Monticello upped their lead to 17 in the top of the seventh as Lizarraga sent a solo shot over the left field wall, and Olaybal scored off a Gabe Kuttenkuler double to right center. A bases-loaded hit by pitch off Jackson Riedling walked in Kuttenkuller. Darcy Barry and Eli Marvin crossed off a single to center by Camden Tanner. After batting around the order, Daniel Lizarraga doubled to left field to drive in Riedling.

Delta State added three more runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning off two singles to right field and a double to left. A UAM error in the bottom of the eighth made it a one-run ballgame, 17-16.

The Statesmen would close out the game scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth with a single to the right, driving in two, closing the game 18-17.
