MONTICELLO, Ark. – Arkansas-Monticello's women's basketball team is set for its final week of Great American Conference regular season contest. The Blossoms are set to travel to Searcy, Arkansas for a final meeting with the 14th-ranked Lady Bisons of Harding on Thursday, February 26, before returning to Steelman Field House for the final match up of the season on Senior Day, Saturday, February 28, against the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist.

Senior Day:  Saturday afternoon upon the completion of the women's game the seniors from both the Cotton Blossoms and Boll Weevils basketball teams will be honored at center court.

Student Halftime Event (Men's Game): During halftime of the men's game, this Saturday, one lucky student in attendance at the basketball games will have a chance to make a full-court putt for $10,000, brought to you by Union Bank! A consolation prize of $800 will be awarded to the lucky putter. To be selected, a student must be at the games and have a valid student ID.

LAST MEETING
#14 Harding University - The Blossoms fell to the Lady Bison earlier in the season at home, 64-86. Harding dominated the opening half of the game, seeing the Lady Bisons outscore Arkansas-Monticello 25-16 in the first quarter and 25-13 in the second. The teams were off to the locker room at the half with the Blossoms trailing, 50-29. The second half proved more evenly matched, as Arkansas-Monticello was only outscored 21-19 in the third quarter. The Blossoms were headed into the final quarter, falling to a 23-point deficit. The fourth quarter saw UAM with a last-minute drive to cut Harding's advantage, outscoring the Lady Bisons 16 points to 15; however, their effort was not enough as the game concluded with an 86-64 loss for UAM. Jena Warden led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (5-4, 0-3 GAC), posting 13 points in the matchup. Warden hit 6-12 total field goals and one three-pointer on the evening. She also contributed two defensive rebounds in her 24 minutes played, along with one assist and a steal. Brilynn Findley followed close behind in the double-digits, scoring 12 points of her own. Findley hit 6-8 field goals while grabbing five defensive rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Alindsey Long was the third Blossom in double-digits for UAM, scoring 11 points. Long hit 5-16 field goals and 1-2 free throws while grabbing two defensive rebounds and two assists. Ella Hamlin saw 10 points posted on the evening as the final Blossom in the double-digits. Hamlin hit 3-5 field goals, two three-pointers, and 2-2 from the line, along with three total rebounds and two steals. Arkansas-Monticello committed 12 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

Ouachita Baptist - Arkansas-Monticello dropped their meeting with the Tigers earlier this season 60-87.Arkansas-Monticello struggled offensively throughout the opening half of the game, falling to the Tigers 26-8 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw a flip in the momentum, with the Blossoms scoring 18 points in comparison to Ouachita Baptist's 20. UAM shot for 34.48% in the first half, hitting only 10-29 field goals, in comparison to the Tiger's 65.38%. The teams would head to the locker room at the half with the Tigers leading, 46-26. Ouachita Baptist's momentum did not falter in the second half of the game, as the Tigers outscored the Blossoms 21-15 in the third quarter, increasing their advantage to 26 points. The final quarter of the game saw the Blossoms go basket-for-basket with the Tigers, increasing their field goal percentage to 50.0% in comparison to OUA's 45.0%. Unfortunately, the matchup concluded with an 87-60 loss for Arkansas-Monticello.  Alindsey Long led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (5-5, 0-4 GAC), posting 13 points in the matchup. Long hit 5-14 total field goals and three three-pointers on the afternoon. She also contributed one offensive rebound in her 30 minutes played, along with two steals. Brilynn Findley followed close behind in the double-digits, scoring 11 points of her own. Findley hit 3-3 field goals and 5-6 from the line while grabbing five defensive rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Arkansas-Monticello committed 15 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
#14 Harding University - The Lady Bisons hold a strong lead in the overall record, 52-32, dating back to the first meeting in January of 1985, an 84-39 win for the Blossoms. UAM has a record of 18-21 at home, 13-29 on the road, and 28-46 in conference play. The largest margin of victory for the ladies in green and white came via a 98-39 win in January of 1989, helping them continue what would become the longest win streak at 12 games, between February 1987 and February of 1992. Through 84 games, the Blossoms have tallied 5,769 points, averaging 68.68 points per game.

Ouachita Baptist University - The Cottom Blossoms currently lead the Tigers with an overall record of 53-41, dating back to their first meeting on February 5, 1976. UAM would win 11 straight meetings between February 1976 and February 1981. The largest margin of victory for the Blossoms over OBU came in the spring of 1990 with a final score of 120-60. At home in Monticello, the Blossoms are 34-14, while on the road, they are 19-25. Through 94 games played, the ladies in green and white have scored 6,906 points against the Tigers, averaging 73.47 points per game.

The Blossoms fell 0-2 this past weekend, falling to the Lady Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, February 19, 62-70, and the the Lady Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, February 21, 63-83.
