MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils were back in action at home Friday evening, taking on the Reddies of Henderson State University in game one of the weekend's Great American Conference series. The Weevils came out with a 6-4 loss in the series opener.

Scoring Recap:
Arkansas-Monticello was the first team to score, seeing Jackson Riedling drive in Eli Marvin on a single to center field.

Henderson State found the tying run in the top of the fourth off an RBI ground. The Reddies upped the lead to two in the fifth off a double to left field, then to three in the eighth courtesy of a single up the middle. 

The Weevils retook the lead in the game in their half of the eighth as Drew Floyd doubled down the left field line to plate Riedling and Marvin. Kyle Tolley found home off a ground out to catcher. Making it 4-3 UAM.

The Reddies sent a three run shot over the right field wall in the ninth to retake the lead.

UAM was held blank in the bottom of the inning falling 6-4.

Pitching Performances:
- Tyler Bribiescas started on the mound for the Weevils pitching 5.0 innings allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five batters.
- Aiden McGee was called to the mound and allowed one run on two hits, striking out five batters in his 3.0 innings of work.
- John White entered the game in the ninth and pitched 0.2 innings allowing two runs, and striking out a batter. 
- Nathan McManus suffered the setback allowing one run on one hit, striking out one batter in his 0.1 innings.

Offensive Showcase:
- Camden Tanner - 2-for-5 with an RBI
- Elijah Olaybal - 2-for-5 with a double
- Eli Marvin - 1-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 1 BB
- Drew Floyd - 1-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI, and 1 BB

Arkansas-Monticello will continue its series with Henderson State tomorrow, Saturday, February 28, with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch. The final game of the series will commence 30 minutes following the conclusion of game two.
