MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team hosted Southeastern Oklahoma State University Thursday evening inside Steelman Field House. The Weevils came out of the contest with a 70-62 win over the Savage Storm. 

Isaac Jackson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (9-11, 5-9 GAC), posting 19 points in the game. Jackson hit 9-17 total field goals on the day and one three-pointer. He also contributed three total rebounds in his 38 minutes, along with two assists and a block.

Ashton Price was the second Boll Weevil in the double-digits, scoring 15 points on the evening. Price hit 5-11 field goals, two three-pointers, and 3-3 from the line, while grabbing three total rebounds and two assists.

Jakob Zenon and Giancarlo Valdez saw 14 points posted apiece as the final Boll Weevils in the double-digits. Zenon hit 4-5 field goals, four three-pointers, and 2-2 free throws, while grabbing three defensive rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Valdez hit 4-7 field goals, three three-pointers, and 3-3 free throws, while grabbing 12 total rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Southeastern Oklahoma (5-15, 4-10 GAC) was led by Tyler Long with 14 points. 

The opening half of the game was a battle throughout its entirety. Arkansas-Monticello went basket-for-basket with Southeastern Oklahoma, seeing the lead change 14 times with three ties. The Weevils prevailed, shooting 11 unanswered points to conclude the half with UAM on top, 41-33.

The second 20-minute period was once again a battle, seeing Arkansas-Monticello and Southeastern Oklahoma exchange points back-and-forth. The Weevils gained control once more thanks to a three-pointer from Jakob Zenon, with 08:34 left on the clock. The Weevils held control for the remainder of the period, seeing a half-high lead of nine points. The contest would conclude with a 70-62 victory for UAM.

Arkansas-Monticello committed nine turnovers in the entirety of the match.
