MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team returns to Weevils Field at Union Bank Park for the remainder of the 2026 regular season, playing eight straight games at home. The home stand will commence with a 6:00 p.m. contest Tuesday, April 14, against the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University.

LAST MEETING
Elijah Olaybal kicked off the scoring in the series opener, driving in Camden Tanner on a single to center field in the third. Ouachita Baptist scored two runs in the fourth, followed by a third run in the fifth. UAM scored two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth. The sixth saw Daniel Lizarraga bring in Drew Floyd in a single through the four-hole, followed by an RBI single from Olaybal, making it a 3-3 game. Drew Floyd scored the go-ahead run in the eighth, taking advantage of a wild pitch. Olaybal drove in Camden Tanner for the fifth and final run of the game for Arkansas-Monticello. The Tigers tied the game in the ninth, scoring on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly. Ouachita Baptist walked the game off in the 12th, taking the series opener, 6-5. In game two, the Boll Weevils put up 12 runs over the Tigers, who mustered only eight. A Tigers balk plated Gabe Kuttenkuler in the third, followed by an Eli Marvin three-run homer that brought in Camden Tanner and Daniel Lizarraga. The final run of the inning saw Darcy Barry double down the left field line to plate Jackson Riedling. Kuttenkuler once more scored in the fourth with a solo bomb over the left field wall. The Tigers found a run in the fourth, but it was overshadowed at the top of the fifth as Kyle Tolley tripled to plate Riedling and Barry. Tolley crossed home as Tanner grounded out, followed by Kuttenkuler as Lizarraga singled to left. A wild pitch in the sixth scored the 11th run for UAM as Barry crossed home. A UAM throwing error at the bottom of the sixth allowed Ouachita Baptist to score. The 12th and final run for the Weevils came in the seventh as Elijah Olaybal doubled to left field to score Lizarraga. The Tigers mounted a comeback but were held off scoring six runs between the seventh and ninth innings. The must-win game three rubber match proved to be an epic game, stretching past its initial seven innings to 11. The first run of the game came via UAM as Jackson Riedling scored on a double play ground out. OBU took the lead in the fifth, 3-1, with two singles to shallow right. Eli Marvin and Jackson Rielding helped tie the game in the sixth, scoring for Daniel Lizarraga and Elijah Olaybal, respectively. Held at three apiece, the game stretched to the 11th inning before UAM blew the lid off the contest. Beau Kuttenkuler singled up the middle to score Kyle Tolley, while Lizarraga sacrificed bunted to bring in Gabe Kuttenkuler. B. Kuttenkuler was plated via an Olaybal single to center, while the final run of the contest crossed as Lizarraga scored on an Eli Marvin sacrifice fly to center.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Weevils lead in the all-time series, 80-57, a record that dates back to the first-ever contest in March of 1976, a 5-8 loss for UAM. The Boll Weevils saw the longest win streak in program history over the Tigers between April 13, 1998, and March 29, 2003, at a record 21 games. While the largest margin of victory came in the Harvey era, a 17-3 win in April of 2021. The Weevils are 36-25 in Cello, 38-29, and 50-49 in conference. Through 137 games, the Weevils have plated 880 runs, averaging 6.42 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Weevils fell to the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State this past weekend, 2-1. Falling in the first game of the doubleheader 10-7, before coming back to win the seven-inning game 7-6. The men in green and white came up short in the final game of the series, 6-9. Friday's win secured the Weevils a spot in the Great American Conference playoffs this May.
