MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team is set to host the Choctaws of Mississippi College on Tuesday, April 21, for their last non-conference midweek of the 2026 season. As part of UAM's Spring Fling, Tuesday's contest will be Luau Night at the Ball Park, with fans encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian/Luau gear.
LAST MEETING
The Weevils fell to the Choctaws the last time out this season, 4-11. Mississippi College kicked off the scoring, grabbing three runs in the first on a three-run shot to left field. They tacked on a fourth run in the third inning on a sac fly's.
AJ Keely got UAM on the board in the fourth on a two-run double to right.
Kyle Tolley brought home a third run in the fifth on a single to left to make it a 4-3 ball game. The Choctaw offense exploded in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring seven total runs on two home runs, two RBI singles, and a double.
Elijah Olaybal scored the final run of the game in the ninth on a solo home run to center field. The midweek saw Arkansas-Monticello conclude an 11-4 loss.
ALL-TIME SERIES
In the record book, Arkansas-Monticello holds a 21-17 record over the Choctaws. This record dates back to the 1989 season in the first set of doubleheaders UAM ever played against Mississippi College, a 6-4 win and a 0-16 loss. At home in the Cello, the Weevils are 7-7, and 13-10 on the road. Through 38 games played, the men in green and white have put 251 wins on the board, for an average of 6.61 runs per game.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Weevils swept the Tigers of East Central University this past weekend, 8-1, 6-5, 3-2. The Weevils came back from behind in late-inning rallies in games two and three to secure and sweep the series.
