Weevils Field at Union Bank Park has grown into one of the premier venues in the Great American Conference through years of strategic investment and strong community support. Renovations began in 2010 with the installation of a new playing surface and were followed after the 2012 season by the addition of updated dugouts, a backstop, bleachers, and a press box. That phase of improvements also introduced an elevated outfield deck near the left-field line, now home to UAM’s spirited student section known as the “Gang Green.”

A second deck, the Commercial Bank Party Deck, was added in the years following, thanks to the loyal partnership of Commercial Bank, enhancing the fan experience with another social, elevated viewing space.

Behind the first base dugout sits the Judy and Jack Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility, originally outfitted with batting cages, meeting rooms, and a weight room. After the team’s historic 2024 postseason run to the NCAA DII Super Regional and the opening of the Kenneth H. Hunt Athletic Performance Center, the IPF’s weight room was converted into a modern baseball locker room.

In the fall of 2024, professional-grade LED stadium lighting was installed and celebrated with a dedication ceremony at the 2025 home opener. Manufactured by GeoSport Lighting Systems (GSL), the LED lighting dramatically improved energy efficiency and visibility, ushering in a new era of night games in Monticello. The facility was also renamed Weevils Field at Union Bank Park in recognition of Union Bank’s decades of generous support. Together, Union Bank and Commercial Bank have played essential roles in advancing UAM Athletics and fostering a first-class student-athlete experience.
