MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team added a quartet of student-athletes for the 2021-22 basketball season, head coach
Markell Cox announced Monday.
"We are so excited to welcome our second signing class in just six months. I am so thankful for such a hard-working staff that is continuing the expectation of excellence here with UAM women's basketball," said UAM head coach
Markell Cox. "Our goal this time around was to recruit toughness and build depth at needed positions. I believe that we landed the type of players in the last two classes that will help carry the torch into the future. With such an experienced group setting the standard for the season, our freshmen can come in and see the expectation of excellence in our program. This class is extremely special, and we are very fortunate that this group of young ladies chose to sign with UAM."
Hayley Flores
5'6" Guard

"Hayley is a great addition to our class upcoming class. She's very crafty, handles the ball well, shoots from deep at very efficient rate and really knows the game. Hayley will be reunited with her sister Taylor, who signed with us this summer and they play extremely well together. We are excited to put the Flores sisters back together."
Shea Goodwin

"Shea Has been on our radar for quite some time. Arkansas has a lot of talent and toughness. Landing a hidden gem like Goodwin was a great pick up for our program. Shea also brings championship experience winning a state championship in high school. Goodwin is such a hard-working guard with an old school work ethic and toughness. I love guards who are not afraid to do the little things. Shea make a team better by bringing a next level defensive mindset which is something you could never have too much of."
Abbi Peterson
5'6" Guard

"Abbi is a player that I have been tracking her potential for the last three years. She is a flat-out scoring guard with an extremely high basketball IQ. Abbi's transition will be easy into our program because she runs a similar system in high school, which helps her settle in early. Peterson is coming off of a record setting year and we are excited to see her growth."

Standing 6'2, she brings Length, additional size, and a different skill set to our power forward position. Weydert's ability to be a two-way player will be huge for the future of this program and we are hoping to see her make an impact on this level."
