MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team will open Great American Conference contests with a weekend series against Harding University beginning on Saturday. The Weevils will play a nine-inning game on Saturday at 2 p.m. and follow that up with a nine-inning and seven-inning doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m.
 
Due to scheduling conflicts, Saturday's game against the Bisons will not be covered via live stats or live video. However, box scores and recaps will be posted to uamsports.com when the information becomes available.

WEEVIL NOTES
UAM got off to a slow start falling in three games at the Houston Winter Invitational, but it has since split its last four games with No. 13 Augustana (S.D.).
 
Much of UAM's struggles have been at the plate this season as they are batting .173 (36-for-208).
 
Audy Clary and Andrew Piraino are the only two hitters that are currently over .300 with Clary batting .357 (5-for-14) while Piraino is hitting .318 (7-for-22). The pair are tied for second on the team in RBI with four apiece.
 
Leading the team in RBI is Jordan Johnson who's managed five on a pair of homers and five total hits.
 
On the bump, UAM has done fairly well tallying a 3.56 ERA (29 ER in 57.0 IP) with 64 strikeouts and 28 walks.
 
Matt Lundh has led the way for the Weevils tallying an 0.64 ERA (1 ER in 11.0 IP) while punching out 17 and walking just three batters.
 
Mason Philley, River Hunt and Ojani Chacon have all done solid jobs out of the bullpen combining for a 1.98 ERA (5 ER in 17.2 IP). Chacon also has the team's lone save thus far in 2020.

BISONS NOTES
The Bison are off to a solid start so far in 2020 with a 4-2 record with a win against Mississippi College and three against Southwest Baptist.
 
A lot of that has been due to its impressive pitching staff. As a team, HU has tallied a 2.06 ERA (11 ER in 48.0 IP) while hurlers have punched out 47 batters and walked just 11.
 
Reigning GAC Pitcher of the Week, Andrew Bradshaw has been the team's top starter as he is 1-1 with a 0.69 ERA (1 ER in 13.0 IP) after he hurled a complete-game shutout against Southwest Baptist.
 
At the plate, the Bison are batting .236 (43-for-182) with three homers and 19 RBI. Michael Chrisman is leading the way with a .368 (7-for-19) with a home run, four RBI and five walks.
