MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team will play its final two games of the regular season this week before playing in the Great American Conference Tournament on March 5th. The Blossoms will first play at Oklahoma Baptist University on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and then finish off schedule at Southern Nazarene University on Saturday at 1 p.m.

UAM is coming off one of its best victories of the year and a Great American Conference Tournament clinching performance in a 62-44 win over one of the best teams in the league in Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
In the contest, UAM forced the Savage Storm to turn the ball over 24 times and held them to shoot 32.6 percent from the field
The win gave UAM a chance to play in the GAC Tournament next week in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. At the moment, seeding is still unknown with the league standings so close. This week's matchups with OKBU and Southern Nazarene will definitely impact the seeding for the event.
On defense, UAM remains one of the best teams in the country ranking 48th in DII in scoring defense (59.2 ppg), 23rd in steals per game (11.2) and 34th in turnovers forced per game (20.5).
Overall, UAM is scoring 67.2 points per game shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 28.3 percent from downtown.
The Blossoms are led by
Berniezha Tidwell who is coming off a career-best 28-point game. She is averaging 16.2 points per game, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. She is also one of the best defenders in DII ranking fifth in steals with 90.
Mackenzie Tillman is also contributing on offense scoring 10.6 points per game shooting 47.5 percent from the field.
Mekaylan Hicks is third on the team in scoring averaging 8.5 points per game and is second in rebounds per game at 5.6.
