DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The UAM Cheer team completed the prelims for their NCA College Nationals appearance in Daytona Beach, Florida. They head into the finals of the competition on Friday afternoon after coming out of the prelims in 5th place.

After coming out of the prelims with an impressive score of 92.00, the team holds a fifth place position out of 20 teams competing in the division. Thusday's score will count for 25% of their total and Friday's score from the finals will count for the remaining 75%. The team is looking forward to competing in the finals tomorrow afternoon.

"I am incredibly proud of this team for their hard work and dedication," said Head Coach Julie Barnes. "They continue to push forward and prove just how talented they are with every warm up, practice, and performance. Today, they hit ZERO, which means no deductions for the routine they performed. This is what any coach or team member loves to see. The judges have given us critiques on what to work on to drive up our score for tomorrow's performance. I am excited to see them perform tomorrow for Finals!"
