UAM Cheer Place Fifth in 2024 NCA College Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The UAM Cheer team closed out the finals of the NCA College Nationals competition on Saturday afternoon. After coming out of Friday afternoon's prelims with a 5th place performance, the team closed out the competition with a 5th place finish overall.

The standing is a top 5 in the nation finish in the Intermediate Small Coed Division II for the UAM Cheer team. Among the three Arkansas schools competing within the division, the University of Arkansas Fort Smith led the bunch with a first place finish, UAM closing out the event in fifth, and Southern Arkansas University rounding out the three with an 12h place finish.

Arkansas-Monticello came out of their finals performance with a raw score of 83.6333 (Max score of 90) with 0.25 deductions for an event score of 92.5069.

Head Coach Julie Barnes had this to say: "This team went all in today and they placed 5th in the nation out of 20 incredibly talented teams! I am so proud of the hard work they have put in. The sky is the limit on what we can do to move this program forward to the next level. The work starts now for next season.
