2025 Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms Roster | GAC Volleyball
MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team (3-11, 0-5 GAC) is preparing for its first homestand of the season, which will see the Blossoms play three matches over the course of four days inside Steelman Fieldhouse. The week will start on Tuesday, October 7, with a non-conference match with the Lions of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith at 6:00 p.m., followed by meetings with the Tigers of East Central University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, and the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10.

The Blossoms are coming off their fifth-straight loss, which occurred during their Thursday, October 2, outing with Southern Arkansas, where they lost 0-3. UAM is also in search of its first GAC victory of the season after starting the campaign 0-5, when they take on East Central and Southeastern. The ladies in green and white are looking for their first wins over UAFS, ECU, and SE since 2021, 2019, and 2022, respectively.

Arkansas-Monticello has yet to see an outing in which the losing team has recorded a set victory. In all 14 matches for the Blossoms, the losing team has not won a single set, whether that be UAM or their opponent.

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*

All-TIME SERIES
University of Arkansas - Fort Smith -
This will be the seventh meeting, and first since 2021, between the Blossoms and the Lions. The Lions hold a 5 to 1 record over the Blossoms, with the sole win for UAM coming in 2021 in a 3-2 decision (22-25, 25-28, 25-13, 26-24, 15-9). Surprisingly, the sole win was decided at a neutral site, as the Blossoms are 0-1 at home, and 0-3 away in Fort Smith, and 1-1 when playing at a neutral location.

East Central University - Thursday's match will be the 16th time these two teams have faced each other on the court. The Blossoms have a one-match lead in the overall record, 9-8. The last time these two squads met, Arkansas-Monticello fell in three (9-25, 7-25, 21-25) in Ada, Oklahoma. The Blossoms have not won a match against the Tigers in four seasons (excluding the canceled 2020 season due to COVID-19). The ladies in green and white are 4-3 at home in Steelman Fieldhouse, while they are 2-5 on the road in Ada, with an overall conference record of 6-8.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University - With the first serve on Friday, the 19th match between the Savage Storm and Blossoms will commence. The two squads first met on the court in UAM's inaugural season (2005) in a 2-3 loss in Magnolia, Arkansas. Southeastern holds a 12-6 lead in the overall record, with the last win for the Blossoms coming in 2022, in five sets. At home in Monticello, the Blossoms lead SE 4-3, but they trail the Savage Storm 2-5 in Durant, with a 6-8 conference record.

LAST MEETING
University of Arkansas - Fort Smith -
Arkansas-Monticello defeated UAFS in their previous meeting in 2021, in five sets. The Blossoms began the first set in a dominant fashion, taking an early lead with a 7-0 run. UAM continued to put points on the board, giving themselves a 14-5 lead. UAFS did not go down quietly, fighting back and securing multiple 6-0 runs and a 5-0 run to ultimately retake the lead and win 25-22. The Lions jumped out to the early advantage in the second set holding a 9-4 lead, but a 5-0 run would put the Blossoms right back in it. The set continued between the two in a back-and-forth fashion. In the end, UAM was unable to hold off the Lions, dropping the second set 28-25. In the third set, UAM went out in front again early. This time, the Lions could not stop the Blossoms as they stormed past UAFS to take the set 25-13. Another early advantage for UAFS in the fourth set proved to be just a number as the Blossoms fought back to keep their chances alive, winning the set 26-24 in the end. In the decisive set, the two squads went back and forth until UAM managed to pull away, winning the set 15-19 and taking the match.

East Central University -  UAM fell in the last match-up, 3-0, to the Tigers in Ada, Oklahoma. The Blossoms saw themselves trailing the Tigers early in the set, 0-8. A kill from Evalyn Dang ended the bleeding momentarily, 1-8, as ECU put up another eight points to the Blossoms' one, 2-16. While an effort to stay in the game commenced for UAM, the Tigers' strong offense held their own, scoring nine points over 16 serves over the Blossoms to win the set, 25-9. UAM began the second set on the wrong side of the scoreboard, down, 0-5, to the Tigers. Two kills from Holiday Ellis gave the Blossoms some life as the Blossoms added four points of their own to the board, 4-9. Despite their effort, the green and white could not hold on, scoring only three more points in the set and dropping set two to the Tigers, 7-25. For the first time in the match, Arkansas-Monticello found itself leading 4-2 in a set. However, four unanswered points for ECU put the Blossoms behind the Tigers again, 4-6. Set three reminded even at 8-8, before the Tigers started to take control, 11-17. Trying to remove the claws of the Tigers, the Blossoms cut the lead to just three, 20-23. The rally for UAM ended after one more point, 21-23, as a service error from the Blossoms and a service ace for the Tigers sealed the set and match, 21-25, 0-3. UAM was held to a .030 hitting percentage on 47 digs, 24 assists, one block, two aces, and 25 kills.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University - The Savage Storm brought all the energy to the last meeting, taking down the Blossoms in three sets in 2024 in Durant. UAM would kick things off for the match, scoring the first point of the set, 1-0, but were instantly halted by the Savage Storm. Multiple kills and service aces would give Southeastern a commanding, 1-10. The Blossoms added on seven points, 8-16, but it wasn't enough to hold the Savage Storm offense, who would pull the set out of reach 8-21. Southeastern took set one and the lead with a final score of 12-25. Arkansas-Monticello started the second set with the odds in their favor, up early, 5-3. The Savage Storm rallied to tie the score at 9-9. In a back-and-forth battle of rallies, the Blossoms tied the score at 14-14, before Southeastern took control. The Savage Storm took 4 unanswered points from UAM thanks to errors from the Blossom defense, 14-18. UAM could only add four more points to SE's seven, losing set two, 18-25. The Blossoms would once again earn the first point of the set, 1-0, before allowing the Savage Storm defense four straight points, 1-4. Despite bringing the scoreboard to 3-5, the Blossoms managed only to score one point on 12 serves, giving SE an 11-point advantage, 4-15. UAM responded with nine points of their own on 11 serves to cut the deficit to just four points, 13-17. The late rally was diminished by the Savage Storm, who once again put up a strong rally, scoring 8 points to UAM's two, to take the final set 26-15 and the match 3-0. UAM was held to a 0.99 hitting percentage, on 41 digs, 25 assists, and 25 kills.
