Baseball Light Dedication Proves Massive Success

MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball program saw a light dedication ceremony held at the newly named Weevils Field at Union Bank Park on Saturday afternoon. The dedication ceremony was held between games of the doubleheader against Missouri Western State.

"What a great day Saturday was for our baseball program and athletics in general," said Athletic Director Hud Jackson. "We are so grateful for all the support from so many different donors, specifically Union Bank, for all their help. We are excited about our softball dedication on the 21st and naming our park after the Ryburn family."

In addition to the new lights, the field received a new name in the 2025 season, Weevils Field at Union Bank Park.

The historic game was the second game of a three-game series with the Griffons and was won by the Boll Weevils, 4-3. UAM swept the series on Sunday with a 14-5 win over MWSU.

UAM Athletics looks forward to the softball light dedication ceremony on Feb. 21. Fans are welcome to attend the first night home game at the newly named Alvy Early Softball Field at Ryburn Park. The Blossoms will host Oklahoma Baptist to open Great American Conference play.
