The Weevils (2-1) took the lead in the first minute and never trailed again en route to the 21-point win. The Scots’ only lead of the game came thanks to a jumper off the tip-off, but Ricardo Hall quickly tied the score on UAM’s first trip down the floor and the Weevils were off to the races.

Two quick runs by the Weevils had them at 26 before Lyon could break into double-digits. UAM’s lead continued to grow throughout the half, led by Sergio Crowe. The senior from Fayetteville, Ala. posted 13 of his 19 on the night in the first half, including the final shot of the period that put UAM up 52-25 going into the halftime break.

Lyon got no closer than 18 points in the second half as the UAM defense held them to just 37-percent shooting on the night. The Weevils hit 59-percent of their attempts by comparison. The Weevils shot just five free throws on the night, hitting four. They also hit 13 three-pointers in the game to Lyon’s five.
