Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. – The UAM Boll Weevils won their final non-conference game of the season tonight against NAIA Lyon College, 86-63.

The Weevils (10-2) led from start to finish after getting off to a 5-0 lead. Sergio Crowe got things going with his first of seven three’s in the first half and Kori Forge followed with two foul shots. The lead got as high as 23 a couple of times with a 41-23 halftime lead of 18.

UAM’s shooting cooled off in the second half as the game settled into a groove, but the Scots never got closer than their 18-point halftime deficit. The Weevils shot 57-percent from three in the first half (8-of14) and dropped to 5-of-13 in the second half. Sergio Crowe accounted for the lion’s share of those, going 7-of-8 from long range in the first half. He had 21 points at the break and ended the night with 24. He took just one two-pointer all night, finishing 8-of-14 from the floor with no foul shots.

L.A. Farmer finished behind Crowe with 19 points to round out those in double figures for the Green and White. Brandon Cowart and Anthony LaBellarte led Lyon with 11 points each. The Weevils pulled in 47 rebounds on the night, to 32 for Lyon, including 28 defensive boards. Second chance and points-in-the-paint were even for both teams, but UAM capitalized with their pressure, forcing 17 turnovers into 24 points.

Tonight’s game was the final tune-up before Great American Conference play tips off on Thursday. The Weevils will open up at Arkansas Tech at 7:30 p.m. following the women’s game. KHBM will broadcast the game live with Jimmy Sledge, beginning with the women’s game at 5:30 p.m. from Tucker Coliseum.
