MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team came up on the wrong end of an 55-51 decision during Monday evening's make up, Great American Conference match with Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Steelman Field House.

UAM (10-16) had only one player score in double figures.

Wesley Booker dropped 17 points and snagged 13 rebounds for Arkansas-Monticello

The Weevils were the first to score, putting in the first point of the game on a Wesley Booker free throw. Though UAM was the first to score, they would quickly lose that lead as the Bulldogs pushed back, taking the control back from UAM for the remainder of the half's entirety. The Weevils were able to put up 18 points throughout the first 20 minutes, trailing SWOSU 30-18 as the two teams would head into the locker room.

The second half proved to go Arkansas-Monticello's way as well as they went back and forth with SWOSU for the remainder of the game. UAM would put up 33 points compared to the Bulldogs' 25 points. UAM was able to bring the game back from being down 21 points, to a 2 point game with less that two minutes to play. Through best efforts the Weevils were unable to regain the lead from SWOSU. UAM finished out the match with a final score of 55-51.

The Weevils move to 10-16 on the season, with a 6-14 GAC record.

UAM will be back in action Thursday, February, 24th for a 7:30 p.m. contest as they travel to Harding University.
