MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello's Men's Basketball team continues GAC play this week with two in-state matchups against the Bisons of Harding University and Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University. After dropping the last two GAC games, the Boll Weevils are looking to Thursday, Dec. 12's match against the Bisons to take the first win. They will go up against Harding at 7:30 p.m. inside the Rhodes-Reaves Field House on Thursday, before returning to Steelman Fieldhouse for the first home GAC game on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3:00 p.m. versus the Tigers of Ouachita.
"Last week was a tough week but we had some positive moments to build on,"Â said Head Coach Chad Tapp. " Thursday on the road is number 3 of our first 4 of 5 conference games on the road. We need to be tougher to win on the road. Both teams are well-coached and playing well. With a brand new team, every day is an opportunity for us to get better."

LAST MEETING
Harding University - The Weevils were the winners in the last meeting, beating the Bison 65-63, securing Head Coach Chad Tapps 200th career win. Zane Nelson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello with 20 points on the night. Nelson went 8-20 on total field goals, 1-6 from beyond-the-arc, and 3-6 from the line, while also contributed three rebounds and three assists in his 39 minutes of play. Isaac Jackson had 16 points of his own on the game, hitting 4-16 field goals and 8-8 free throws with nine rebounds and an assist. Josh Denton was the final Boll Weevil in double digits, posting 13. Denton was 5-11 on field goals and 3-7 from deep, while grabbing four rebounds.
Ouachita Baptist University - UAM was victorious in the last meeting, winning 65-54 in Arkadelphia. Isaac Jackson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello posting 22 points to close out the regular season. Jackson 7-19 field goals, 1-2 threes, and 7-10 free throws with three total rebounds, one block, and one assist in his 40 minutes. Zane Nelson trailed by one, scoring 21 total on the night. Nelson was 6-17 on total field goals and 9-10 from the line while contributing five rebounds, four assists, and four steals on the night. They were followed closely by Josh Denton, who posted 14 points of is own, going 5-11 on field goals, 3-6 from beyond the arc and 1-2 from the line. He also contributed four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in his 23 minutes on the court.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Harding University - UAM holds a slight edge over Harding in the all-time record, 68-60, since starting play against each other in December of 1960. The Weevils are 39-23 at home in Steelman, while 27-37 in Searcy, Arkansas. Arkansas-Monticello has gone into overtime on seven different occasions with the Bison, posting a 4-3 record in it, with one overtime game being decided by one point in triple overtime. The highest margin of victory for the Boll Weevils came in 1993 with a 96-60 win. Through 128 games played, the Weevils are averaging 74.55 points per game on 9,542 points scored.
Ouachita Baptist University - The Tigers hold a six-game advantage over the Boll Weevils, with an overall record of 56-62. Â The first match-up between the two teams came on January 13, 1961, with the Weevils winning 42-36. Since then they have a 35-24 record at home, while they are 20-37 on the road in Arkadelphia. The largest win margin over the Tigers came in 1978 with a 91-57 final score on Dec. 4, 1978. Having played 118 games since 1961, UAM has put up 8,194 points, averaging 69.44 points per game.
