David Stover was the best pitcher of his era and one of the best in school history.
From 1971-74, he compiled a career earned run average of 2.24, a school record, while recording 285 strikeouts, also a school mark.
As a freshman in 1971, Stover earned honorable mention All-NAIA District 17 honors and was a second team All-AIC selection.
In 1972 he batted a team high .364, struck out 111 batters, and was honorable mention All-AIC. In 1973 he posted an ERA of 1.96 and followed that with a 1.97 in 1974.
As a senior in ’74, Stover posted an 8-3 record with a 1.97 ERA and 114 strikeouts while earning first team All-AIC and All-NAIA District 17 recognition.
